Our range of gold bars comes in various weights or sizes. They can be sold as small as per gram, per ounce, or even per kilogram. Deciding which size of gold bar you want to buy may depend on several factors such as the brand name of the gold bar (Betts, Umicore, or Metalor), your premium and per ounce targets, your liquidity objectives, and of course your budget.
Generally speaking, the larger the gold bar you buy, the lower the premium you will have to pay per ounce of gold. This is due to the manufacturing costs that does not increase proportionately to the size of the gold bar. Producing a 12.5kg gold bar is less costly and labour extensive compared to a 1oz gold bar.
When you’re purchasing a gold bar, you should always keep in mind that the larger the gold bar, the less number of potential investors or buyers in this world who can afford it. In other words, more people would be able to afford a 100g gold bar than a 1kg gold bar.
